Principal of Lower School if deployed in the Lower School division
Principal of Upper School if deployed in the Upper School division

Qualification

Required

  • 4 years of teaching experience in an international school
  • Degree in Learning Support (Master’s Degree preferred)

Preferred

  • EAL experience

Preferred Skills and Experience

  • Ability to collaborate and empower classroom teachers to feel capable of meeting the needs of all students within their class 
  • Coach teachers in best practices for LS and ELL participation
  • Experience with co-teaching and co-planning
  • Experience or training in working with English Language learners 
  • Experience in developing a student-centered curriculum
  • Experience in standards-based grading
  • Experience working with children in a multicultural environment
  • Experience in administering and analyzing learning support and English language proficiency (WIDA) assessments to determine student progress
  • Experience with writing IEPs and English language proficiency plans (ILPs) for identified learners
  • Experience in working with emotional and behavioral disabilities, autism, and other learning disorders 
  • ​​Experience in dealing with students academic support as it relates to various disorders
  • Experience with a range of developmentally appropriate assessments and intervention programs pertaining to Learning Support
  • Maintain up-to-date records of assessment, attendance, planning, reports, conferences, and communication with parents 
  • Ability to interpret educational psychological assessments and academic assessments 
  • Knowledge of screening tools for admissions and assessments relevant to learning support
  • Coordinate/consult with external agencies to support student progress
  • Advocate for LS and English language learners to be able to access the curriculum
  • Provide professional development in differentiation instruction for LS and English language learners
  • Skillfully make input comprehensible for students
  • Produce LS/ELL reports detailing student’s progress each reporting period
  • Collect and maintain storage of LS/ELLs testing results and reports
  • Consult and provide professional development for shadow teachers
